Sneaky Parrot

Going over old photos and found this from back in September. It's probably a sign that I have too many photos when I can lose them so easily...
He's not really sleeping, just hoping to lure me in close enough to bite.
Shot with Canon 30D + 24-105mm f/4 L @ 105mm, f/4, 1/400, ISO 250

Most manufacturers increase the ISO exponentially on consumer and pro-sumer level cameras (100, 200, 400, 800, etc.) One of the 'special features' of the 30D was the use of the more professional system of increasing ISO in 1/3-stop increments (100, 125, 200, 250, 320, 400, etc.).
Adjusting the ISO in stops is more consistent (as metering, exposure, and aperture are adjusted according to stops) than adjusting it in exponential increments.
Interestingly enough, the 30D is the only one of the Canon xxD lineup that allows ISO adjustment in stops. I prefer this now as it's consistent with my 5D - though if I didn't have that option, I probably wouldn't care... haha.
